Switzerland considers PM2.5 limit value

The Swiss Federal Commission for Air Hygiene recommends the introduction of an ambient air quality standard for PM2.5 in addition to the already existing standards for PM10. It is calling for an annual mean limit of 10 μg/m3, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), to be incorporated into the Swiss Federal Ordinance on Air Pollution Control (OAPC). It also recommends the specification of a binding target for a reduction of carcinogenic soot by 80 per cent in the next 10 years.
