Switzerland considers PM2.5 limit value

The Swiss Federal Commission for Air Hygiene recommends the introduction of an ambient air quality standard for PM_2.5 in addition to the already existing standards for PM₁₀. It is calling for an annual mean limit of 10 μg/m³, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), to be incorporated into the Swiss Federal Ordinance on Air Pollution Control (OAPC). It also recommends the specification of a binding target for a reduction of carcinogenic soot by 80 per cent in the next 10 years.
