Methane Matters

The Methane Matters project is a coalition of non-governmental organizations working to significantly reduce methane emissions in the agriculture, waste, and energy sectors by 2030. The initiative aims to strengthen the EU’s leadership in implementing the Global Methane Pledge by securing ambitious emission reduction targets, additional mitigation measures, stricter enforcement of existing regulations, and national action plans to support the pledge.

AirClim’s contribution focuses on advocating for methane’s inclusion in the Gothenburg Protocol and the National Emission Reduction Commitments (NEC-Directive). Additionally, AirClim works to raise awareness of methane’s role in ground-level ozone formation and its impacts on health and crops.
